Get Connected!!

If you haven't already, then check out http://www.teachersmatter.org.nz/
This NZEI site has numerous avenues to be connected to issues that are important to primary teachers.

Check out the groups. Join one! There is an AP/DP group, a Reading Recovery group, amongst others.
Not one there that fits you - then start one.
Join mine! I can't run it alone. I might even join one of yours!

Add a blog. I did, but the thoughts may rankle some people.

Teachersmatter also has a facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/pages/NZEI-Teachers-Matter/184269865632
Add that as a friend.

Get connected! Get involved! You may say something that matters. You may say something that nobody has heard, yet have been waiting to hear.

World Teachers Day

This October 30th it is World Teachers Day and I encourage any primary school, secondary school and Early Childhood teacher to mark this day and the plan is for as many schools as possible stopping at 12.30 to 'put their hands up for learning'.
We would love to have photos of this.
If possible, it would be great if you could organise activities at your school and contact other schools around you to do the same.
If you do get a photo I'd love a copy. Just send it to me at roger.pooley@gmail.com
Please join in and take part. Recognise the day. Recognise yourselves for what you do.

News for August and September

In the downloads section is the report for September (from the PCTAG August meeting) and the (lighter reading) August newsletter. They are both worth a read and can be printed off to pin on a staff wall. Not everything will interest everyone, but something in them may interest someone you know.

Term 3 Newsletter

Added to the Downloads section of the sidebar is a new PCTAG newsletter. Lighter in content than my report, it has been produced to be used generically across the country, but with regional added if pertinent. Check it out!

July Report

In the downloads section is the July PCTAG report. As usual you will go through 3rd party links to get it. I intend to keep producing these reports, but there will be a Primary Newsletter being produced that is 'lighter' in content (but no less important).

February Report

In the downloads section I have included the February PCTAG report (that I produce for the Bay of Plenty) to demonstrate the range of issues covered at a typical PCTAG meeting.
Sorry, but the link takes you to a third party file download site. Bit of a nuisance, but currently the only way I know how to make my reports downloadable.

PCTAG Meeting 22-23 May

I have attended the recent PCTAG meeting in Wellington and should be sending out a newsletter in the next couple weeks. It will summarise the content of the meeting and feature issues on importance and interest to primary teachers.
